Grinding noise when steering right on S204 | MERCEDES-BENZ
I have a grinding noise when steering right on an S204. It sounds almost as if the heat shield is rubbing against the brake disc, which is not the case. What could it be? I suspect the brake caliper.

Ralf K. Hello, I rather think that a brake pad is canted there. Remove pads, clean and grind the carrier, especially at the contact points of the pads. Apply ceramic paste to the points and then reinstall the brake.

OpenDaniel J. You might want to check the wheel bearing play.

Problem with rough running on gasoline | MERCEDES-BENZ
Hello, I have a problem. The vehicle runs roughly like a tractor when running on gasoline. There is no entry in the fault memory. After switching to natural gas operation, the car runs perfectly. The high-pressure gasoline pump was checked using Stardiagnose, and all values are within the target range. Thanks for your help

OpenCar won't start | MERCEDES-BENZ
Good evening everyone, Unfortunately, my car won't start anymore. We wanted to start it the next morning and lo and behold, nothing works. The key and the ignition switch can be turned all the way. Contact and ignition work, but when I try to start it, nothing happens. The car was at a trusted workshop, but they couldn't find the problem. The same happened at the Mercedes-Benz partner, who also made no progress with their troubleshooting. Thanks

First the ASR malfunction message appeared, followed by the tire pressure monitoring system malfunction message. Then the engine control light came on. Poor throttle response. Normal acceleration from approx. 2000 rpm. Kick-down does not work... OBD readout unsuccessful... I am grateful for any tip.

Whistling noise under load in Astra | VAUXHALL
I have the problem that my Astra starts to make a whistling noise under load from about 100 / 110km/h. The whole thing can only be heard when I accelerate with the pedal or the cruise control is switched on. As soon as I let the car roll, the noise disappears. There are no error codes stored. Noise gets louder with increasing speed. Engine code: z18xe

I've had a creaking noise in the C-pillar for 3 years when the vehicle is used. I was just in the workshop and they relaxed the spot welds of the adjacent metal sheets. However, the creaking is still there.
Horst M. · 07/22/21Brake grinding noise at high speed | VW
Hello, I have a question. From about 90 km/h on the motorway, after a few kilometers I have the problem that even with a slight right turn (load distribution minimally to the left) a shrill whistling comes from the rear right. If I steer the load directly to the other side, i.e. steer slightly to the left, it is gone. Also, if I only lightly press the brake pedal or pull the handbrake minimally, the whistling (grinding) is gone. It will probably be the disc or the brake pad that is rubbing. The wheel is also boiling hot. Normally I would suspect the caliper, but it has been replaced twice in the last 3 years. The previous owner complained about this until the end. I have already completely relaxed the handbrake for testing, it is not due to that. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing the brake to rub? Could something like this be caused by a defective wheel bearing, possibly axial play? I am a bit unsure. I only know the typical defective grinding bearings.
Marco S. · 07/18/21Noise when engaging gear during cold start | VW
I have a noise when engaging a gear, but only during a cold start. After the cold start, when a gear (DSG) is engaged, whether D or R, there is a grinding noise. The noise decreases with every meter driven. After about 100 meters, it disappears again. However, this occurs depending on the temperature. If the vehicle is driven briefly beforehand, the noise is barely audible. If the vehicle is parked after a longer drive, the grinding noise is much louder. It is also less noticeable in winter.

The backing plate was so warped that it was rubbing against the brake disc. Replacement has helped.
