Problem with rough running on gasoline | MERCEDES-BENZ

Hello, I have a problem. The vehicle runs roughly like a tractor when running on gasoline. There is no entry in the fault memory. After switching to natural gas operation, the car runs perfectly. The high-pressure gasoline pump was checked using Stardiagnose, and all values are within the target range. Thanks for your help

The solution to the riddle: The partial load ventilation has a solenoid valve in the line. This was oiled and therefore usually did not switch. And now it comes: In petrol operation, this valve is apparently controlled differently than in gas operation. Testing the exchange of petrol injectors and high-pressure pump did not bring any improvement; only the replacement of this pipe section with integrated valve was the solution. Have you checked the compression? It could be that one or more pistons have failed. Check the spark plugs.

  2. Karsten O.

Compression has been checked, is OK and consistent. Spark plugs all look perfect, all plugs and ignition coils replaced preventatively with new ones, no change. Vehicle runs perfectly on natural gas.

I also had natural gas once and the same problem. Had a problem with the mass airflow sensor.

Unfortunately, the M274.920 in natural gas design does not have an air mass meter.

I would suspect the injection system and take a closer look at it.

Is this factory-installed? Not a replica?

    Factory installed.

Since the fault in natural gas operation is gone, it can only be due to gasoline operation. Is the fuel OK? Are the fuel injectors OK?

  9. Karsten O.

Fuel replaced, runs fine in the other vehicle. According to the Stardiagnose test, fuel injectors and high-pressure pump are OK. "It can only be due to petrol operation" - I see it that way too.

The spray pattern of the injectors would also be interesting.

Unfortunately, I can't check the DE injectors myself. I can only rely on the guided test with Stardiagnose, which says "everything is OK" 😩

I would guess the fuel injectors

Remove the fuel rail and then "blow it out", as the docs always do in the videos....

Tested. Looks okay, but required some tinkering because the connection to the HP pump is a stainless steel pipe.
