Steering lock issue | MERCEDES-BENZ

Hello, maybe someone has a tip for me where I can start?! :-) The key won't turn and the steering lock won't disengage. Thanks in advance!

The user is having trouble with their car's steering lock. The key won't turn and the steering lock is not disengaging.

One more thing occurred to me, and that led me to the solution! I cleaned the EIS or the lens with soapy water and a cotton swab, and it works perfectly again 👍 There was a pretty thick layer of dirt on it. And the night is over now.

    It seems to have an electronic lock that is causing problems, like the electric steering wheel lock. Can both be sent in for testing and repair, e.g. to Ecu.de?

    This is due to the lock; the electronics of the key can probably no longer communicate with the electric steering lock. This is a fairly common problem. As far as I know, a new ignition lock needs to be installed.
