Marcel K. Have you ever measured the output from the ignition switch? Is there power there when the key is in the Start position?
OpenDirk L. Have all the fuses been checked?
Fabian S. According to the workshop, yes. Which fuses could be the problem?
Fabian S. I didn't measure it, but the MB partner workshop did. They said that the approval would be given. Their error memory showed that the control unit was defective (picture). They then replaced it, but it didn't work.
OpenNemanja K. Do you have 5V control voltage on the sensors? Are the crankshaft or camshaft sensors OK?
Serhat Does the instrument cluster light up when you turn the key, or is everything dead? It could be the multi-function relay.
Alexander P. Was the control unit recoded after replacement?
Andreas C. I had the same problem, and for me it was the crankshaft sensor and the fuel pump was stuck. It had been standing in the garage for about 2 years. And when I wanted to take it out this year, it wouldn't start. So I replaced the pump and sensor and everything is running again.
Uwe G. Check the fuse under the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.

So… I took the vehicle to the ignition switch specialist in NRW Recklinghausen. As I could see, they laid a new cable that runs from the engine control unit to the ignition switch. Cost: €350 and so far it works perfectly. Thanks for all the advice :)
