Engelbert K. Hello,
Yes, I had the same problem with my Opel Astra, BMW Compact and also with my Mercedes A-170. Each time the problem was worn brake pads. Usually the brake pads have a spring steel, a thin strip of sheet metal, which touches the brake disc after the brake pads are worn and thus creates the whistling noise. This is intentional to acoustically signal to the driver that the pads should be replaced.
If that's the case with you, the whistling is not a big deal.
I hope I could help you with the information.
Sincerely,
Engelbert

OpenDragan B. Have you tried bleeding them? Or possibly a defective wheel bearing, but you would have heard noises a long time ago... Best regards, Dragan
Rrustem M. Hello, I think it's the wheel bearing and not the brake
3Kai H. I would check the brake on that side to see if it is slightly stuck and getting hot after a while, which would make the grease in the wheel bearing too liquid and cause the noise to come from the wheel bearing.

OpenBirger S. The brake pads are sticking in the caliper bracket. This causes the brake to get hot and start to squeal.
Sven K. Can you recreate a stiff wheel on the lift? If so, open the bleeder valve. If the wheel is then easy to turn again, the ESP hydraulic unit is probably defective.
Marco S. I only have a pit available, but when it's jacked up, the wheel turns normally and easily like the left one.
Marco S. I'll check that in the next few days. I've already ordered new pads.
Birger S. Then clean the caliper carrier properly so that the pads can really move easily inside.
Faraj I. Brake pads or wheel bearings.
Jürgen C. Check wheel bearings and brake calipers

It was due to the parking brake cable. One of the two seems to have been replaced at some point and it was a different length. As a result, the pad on the rear right was always in slight contact with the disc. Installed two new brake cables and the fault is gone.
