Noise when engaging gear during cold start | VW
I have a noise when engaging a gear, but only during a cold start. After the cold start, when a gear (DSG) is engaged, whether D or R, there is a grinding noise. The noise decreases with every meter driven. After about 100 meters, it disappears again. However, this occurs depending on the temperature. If the vehicle is driven briefly beforehand, the noise is barely audible. If the vehicle is parked after a longer drive, the grinding noise is much louder. It is also less noticeable in winter.

Check the DSG transmission fluid level and condition. Inspect the dual-mass flywheel and clutch assembly for wear or damage. Consider a DSG adaptation reset.

Klaus B. Video does not match the described issue. SORRY. Unfortunately, I can't delete it anymore.
OpenAlexander W. Thanks for letting me know, then see if you can record the noise and add it here later.
Markus T. On my old automatic transmission, I got rid of grinding noises by changing the oil. But I removed the entire pan and completely changed the oil, plus added an additive from Liqui Moly.
👏1Birger S. It should still be under warranty. If VW wants to replace the turbocharger under warranty, let them. They can then repair the transmission afterwards.

OpenReiner What is the mileage of the vehicle? The clutch plates may be worn. Perform a transmission fluid change.

OpenPassat 35i Transmission Problems at Operating Temperature | VW
Hello, I wanted to contact the FabuCar community because I think it's too stupid to register in a thousand forums and publish a post there, so here it is. I have a problem with the transmission on my Passat 35i when the engine reaches operating temperature. Between 70 and 90 degrees, the transmission starts to jerk when I turn on position D. I have attached a video in which the problem is visible. There is a noise in the engine compartment, which indicates that the transmission is acting up. The transmission works perfectly when it is cold. Only when it has reached a certain temperature and a certain clicking occurs at a relatively medium distance inside does the transmission stop working. I can tell from the clicking that it starts to jerk again. After trying everything possible that could lead to a solution, nothing worked. So I'm really at the end of my rope at the moment. So my question is, is there anyone who has had similar symptoms and found a fault? Does anyone happen to have the circuit diagram for the control unit or the complete wiring harness from the control unit to the transmission and external sensors? Or are there other components such as sensors that are not in the transmission that are controlled via the control unit? That would be my next solution, that a sensor, which I unfortunately don't know about yet, may be defective. If anyone knows anything: even small things can help me to finally solve this problem. I've been working on it for several months now. Thanks

Hey guys, on my Golf, the rear left door isn't responding to anything, only the central locking works, but no speakers or power windows… The wiring harness has been checked and is not defective…
Ronny H. · 07/17/21Brake grinding noise at high speed | VW
Hello, I have a question. From about 90 km/h on the motorway, after a few kilometers I have the problem that even with a slight right turn (load distribution minimally to the left) a shrill whistling comes from the rear right. If I steer the load directly to the other side, i.e. steer slightly to the left, it is gone. Also, if I only lightly press the brake pedal or pull the handbrake minimally, the whistling (grinding) is gone. It will probably be the disc or the brake pad that is rubbing. The wheel is also boiling hot. Normally I would suspect the caliper, but it has been replaced twice in the last 3 years. The previous owner complained about this until the end. I have already completely relaxed the handbrake for testing, it is not due to that. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing the brake to rub? Could something like this be caused by a defective wheel bearing, possibly axial play? I am a bit unsure. I only know the typical defective grinding bearings.

I have the problem that my Astra starts to make a whistling noise under load from about 100 / 110km/h. The whole thing can only be heard when I accelerate with the pedal or the cruise control is switched on. As soon as I let the car roll, the noise disappears. There are no error codes stored. Noise gets louder with increasing speed. Engine code: z18xe

I have a grinding noise when steering right on an S204. It sounds almost as if the heat shield is rubbing against the brake disc, which is not the case. What could it be? I suspect the brake caliper.

We sometimes experience a phenomenon with our DSG transmissions where a brief noise occurs when shifting from one gear to another. This was definitely due to the clutch kit. This was known to the manufacturer, and now the transmissions are completely replaced. I suspect and think that it will be similar with you, that the dual-clutch is causing a noise and that this disappears depending on the temperature, due to the oil temperature. The best thing for you to do is to leave the vehicle in the workshop for a few days, or show the employee which noise you mean. They will then know what to look for and if it can be understood, then they can act, otherwise it is difficult. I wouldn't worry in your position, you still have a guarantee.
