Audi A3 8V - No Sound | AUDI

Hi fellow enthusiasts,

Suddenly, the sound on our Audi A3 8V failed, so no music, radio, telephone, etc.

But the display and all other components work perfectly.

Factory settings performed without success, no error message?

Hi thank you. But the problem lies in the MMI system, for your information it is located in the glove compartment. I have already removed it and the repairman says a new one costs around 2-2.5 thousand euros.

Without a diagnosis, there is little that can be done... it depends on what equipment your vehicle has; for example, an additional amplifier may be installed in the vehicle, which has failed and is therefore causing the sound to fail... I would recommend making a diagnosis and then applying hemp. This saves a lot of work/time and therefore money....

Such errors may be visible in the fault memory...

    Hello!

Had the same problem with a Mazda with a Bose sound system. I completely removed the radio and unplugged everything, including the power from the radio, and waited a few minutes. Then I plugged everything back in and it worked again! Maybe it will work with your A3 too!

Otherwise, I would check the fuses. If everything is fine there, then check the amplifier, it could be that it has given up the ghost...

    Greetings and good luck

This is a known issue with the MIB1 without a sound system. The power amplifier in the 5F module sometimes fails. If it's installed like this, have the 5F (central computer in the glove compartment) checked. For example, at ecu.de

Hello, I had the exact same problem with my BMW E65, but my park distance control was also not working, so no sound. Everything worked except the sound. I was in the workshop for 3 days at BMW and they couldn't find anything, and then my buddy and I found out what the problem was, it was a voice control unit that was broken, we bridged it and everything works. Because with BMW everything runs via fiber optics and that was the issue.

Sounds like the Main Unit is broken. Remove it and disconnect all the cables from the Main Unit and reconnect them. If it still doesn't work, you'll need a new one.
