Shaking/jerking while driving at constant speed | AUDI

Hi,

When I'm on the highway, driving at a constant speed (with or without cruise control), a shaking or jerking occurs from time to time. This occurs sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, sometimes with longer pauses, sometimes with shorter ones. It is independent of speed, whether I drive 100, 130 or 160 is completely irrelevant.

The CAGA 2L (143 hp) runs really clean when idle, all maintenance was done by Audi.

250,000 km on the clock

A Multitronic is installed

I don't know if this is normal with the Multitronic, but it also jerks extremely in second gear without gas. As if it were a gasoline engine that is about to stall.

Thanks

After a lot of elimination and prolonged observation, the Multitronic has crystallized as the culprit. It no longer disengages when the car is stationary.

Is there access to a tester? What is the behavior of the rail pressure in case of failure?

Based on the description, I would lean towards the EGR. Therefore, as a test, first slide it under a seal with a sheet metal strip and close it off.

That's funny, I also have a judder with the Caga, albeit in a different configuration. What do the EGR and throttle valve look like? Do you have a fault code entry? Read the values from the PDF at the mileage or have them read out if you don't have the option. Above all, the oil ash volume value should not exceed 0.016 or 0.16, I don't have it in my head right now. Furthermore, as @ Alexander Wolf already described for me, read out the injections and upload the values here or have a return flow test carried out.

Hey, have you ever tried clearing the Multitronic's learned values and performing a relearn drive?

Thanks for the great tips and sorry for the late reply. First of all, fault memory: no entries. Injectors ok, perfect values. Intake manifold slightly coked, but nothing worth mentioning, no change even after complete cleaning. EGR no complaint, works. Fuel pressure etc. ok. Tires balanced. Chassis ok. As it seems, it will be the Multitronic, despite complete maintenance, an overhaul seems necessary at 250,000 at the latest.

Do you happen to have a guide for that? Gearbox control unit basic settings?
