Front right drive shaft removal | VW
Hello, I have a clicking noise on the front right drive shaft, especially when starting off and when changing loads.
I think the inner joint of the right drive shaft is worn out....
Can someone tell me how to remove the drive shaft? Only with the help of normal tools?
Regards

Water ingress on the passenger side | VW
Hello, I have a question because I have water ingress on the passenger side below the dashboard. The water runs out in the passenger compartment just next to the center console and into the footwell, and there is a lot of it and it is very clean, so no coolant or anything like that. The plenum chamber in the engine compartment has already been checked for blockages, but the drains are all clear.

OpenRear brake discs heavily rusted | VW
I have the following problem: Sharan built in 11/2017 with 45000 km with electric parking brake. Garage vehicle with frequent short journeys. The rear brake discs show heavy rust without noticeable heat generation while driving. Is there a trick to avoid this? Thanks

How do I access the water drain at the rear right of the front passenger window and the rear left of the driver's window? There is water in the sill and in the window guide. Thanks

Hi, when locking the car, the right and left side mirrors automatically fold in, and I hear a creaking noise on the right one. Is this negligible? If not, how can I eliminate the creaking? Thanks in advance for the tips. Regards, Kurt

Hello, yes I can. Loosen the central bolt on the front wheel hub with the appropriate socket. Leave the wheels on the ground while doing this, only loosen them. Have a second person step on the brake while doing so. Then jack it up and loosen the drive shaft on the transmission side. These should be 8 or 10 mm Allen bolts. Then pull it off the transmission first and then pull it out of the steering knuckle. It's a bit tricky, but it works. Otherwise, you can unscrew the ball joint and then you can move the steering knuckle freely outwards and have enough space.
If you've never done it before, it's better to have it done by a professional. The right side is the long side, so you'll definitely have to loosen the suspension ball joint at the bottom, which is often not easy.
The 7 screws must be new. The 6 on the transmission side are a variety from VW and not Allen screws.
The vehicle must be securely jacked up to prevent it from rolling away. The central screw must be tightened with a torque wrench and angle of rotation.
You have to make sure that brake lines/electrical connections do not break off or are under too much tension.
The question is, how does it work with the splined joint on the transmission...like the old vehicles? Mounting lever and push it out? It's not the bolted version on the transmission side...
No, they are screwed on with 6 spline screws. Screw them on and then you have it in your hand. No oil runs out or anything like that, and don't use a pry bar on it. On VWs, the shafts are not push-fit.
I'm sorry, I have to correct myself...at the front, the shafts are plugged in on the transmission side and screwed on at the rear...😪
Never.......
At VW, they are bolted to the transmission with 6 screws (multiples of 8 or 10)....
I don't know of any VW where the shafts are plugged in....
Yes Bernd, they are plugged in at that point
See picture...
The procedure remains the same. Now, however, you absolutely have to remove the ball joint. It usually works with the ball joint separator. It doesn't cost much and you can always use it, or you can borrow one. If necessary, it can also be done with a hammer. Please use a new screw (tighten to 55 NM). Pull the steering knuckle outwards and pull off the shaft. It's not a big deal.
That's the first time I've seen that
Sorry for my wrong answer.....
