What do you mean by the 07 number, which is only permitted for movement journeys and test drives after repair and only really makes sense if you have several vehicles that must be at least 30 years old. With the H license plate there are no usage restrictions, but there is a fixed vehicle tax rate regardless of how large the displacement is; vehicle age is also at least 30 years.

Yes, I'm aware of everything. I also have 2 other vehicles over 30 years old. There are also some advantages to the 07 license plate... for example, that there is no 2-year general inspection. I only want to drive the cars sporadically and go to meetings. That would be enough for me. A test drive is open to broad interpretation 😉

Then the '07' license plate makes sense. It's best to ask your registration office about the requirements. I once heard that there can be different requirements from each registration district, but I don't know if that's true.

Of course, that's possible. You'll need the H-certificate from TÜV and then you can apply for the 07 number at the registration office. I think you also need a certificate of good conduct for that. And you can then have all the vehicles you want registered on the 07 number.

When you go to the TÜV (küs, gtü, etc.), the inspector will register whether you want an H license plate or a 07 registration. He/she will also ask, and I always do the same.

That's not the case; with 07 registration, it always depends on the registration office; they can arbitrarily decide whether an 07 license plate is issued and to whom. Find out in advance how your authority handles this. If necessary, go to another office assigned to your district.

That's complete nonsense. '07' plates are no longer issued anywhere in Germany, and haven't been for many years!

Where are you getting your claim from? We have several 07 number plates and keep registering new ones from time to time.
